About Moose Lake

The City of Moose Lake is the gateway to Minnesota’s scenic Arrowhead Region. Moose Lake is Carlton County’s second largest city and welcomes many visitors year-round looking to enjoy the nature, beauty and adventure that abound in the area.

The city, nestled on the shores of Moosehead Lake hosts many events throughout the year, including the Agate Days celebration, which is the third weekend of July each year.  Moose Lake is known as the “Agate Capital” and is home to the world’s largest agate, weighing in at 108 pounds displayed at First National Bank of Moose Lake.

Moose Lake, MN is a city for all seasons and offers an array of recreational and historical sites, including state forests, waterways, lakes, state and local parks and a host of campgrounds and resorts. Recreational activities include activities for all seasons with access to boating, biking, fishing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, four-wheeling and much more!
